Between 2 and 8 September, Radauti will be the host of an activity that represents the preview of the Euro2007Habitat Build project.
Two teams of volunteers, made of personalities of the social life, politics and mass-media, will build at Bucuresti "Casa Europa" - a playground for the children coming from the families that benefit from the houses that will be built at Radauti between 3 and 7 September 2007.
650 volunteers, guided by Habitat for Humanity, will build at Radauti 27 houses for the needful families. The 27 houses will be built-up in a record time of 5 working days. Each house will represent a UE member state and will be a proof of humanity and care from people to people.
The Euro2007Habitat Build project is accomplished in collaboration with the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Housing and under the patronage of the European Commission Representation in Romania, and it benefits from the support of the Larfarge Romania partners, Vodafone Romania Foundation, and the sponsors: MoneyGram, Whirlpool, Consolis, Isover, Akzo Nobel, Citi, Austrotherm, Coca-Cola, Knauf and LB Knauf, Improdex Autotransport, Betty Ice, Mircea & Partners, PRAIS Corporate Communications company, and the media partners: Europa FM and Saptamana Financiara.

Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization, has supported in Romania more that 650 families in need of finding a home to move in simple, decent and healthy houses. Habitat for Humanity is an active organization in Cluj, Pitesti, Radauti, Comanesti, Craiova and Cumpana (Constanta county). The benefiting families work at the building of their houses together with romanian and foreign volunteers. Habitat has helped in 2005, 2006 and 2007 over 300 families in Bacau, Arges and Dolj to rebuild their homes destroyed by the floods. On international level, Habitat has built over 225.000 houses in 100 countries of the world, for a number of over a million people.
